“Things should first of all follow logic.”

Glatting Jackson’s new Denver office kicked off its “Friday Afternoon Café,” last Friday, May 9, 2008, a weekly professional development lunch to sample tasty treats, fruitful conversation, and community planning ideas du jour.  Invited guests at last week’s inaugural event included the venerable, Dana Crawford, Chairman of Urban Neighborhoods, and the force behind the revitalization of Lower Downtown Denver; Carol Maclennan with Tri County Health Department, and Nigel Staton with Land By Design.   Crawford treated all Cafe invitees to an oral history of LoDo and the challenges and opportunities of the revitalization effort over the last thirty years, including ongoing debates over acceptable changes to historic buildings such as whether or not to replace authentic windows in light of new energy requirements. Glatting’s Denver staff hopes “Friday Afternoon Cafes” will become a much anticipated educational networking institution at the company’s new digs, 1523 18th Street in LoDo between Blake and Wazee.
