The Town of Montverde is developing a preliminary engineering and environmental analysis along CR 455 from the southern town limits to Fosgate Road and CR 455. The Town is focused on addressing safety and traffic concerns within the town, bicycle and pedestrian circulation through the town, drainage concerns, and reconfiguration of the downtown area to support development in the town center. Concurrent with this effort, the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council is working in coordination with the Green Mountain Scenic Byway Corridor Management Entity, a citizen-led group, to develop a Master Plan for the Green Mountain Scenic Byway. The Master Plan will address transportation analysis and design, multi-use trail design, signage and wayfinding, and land development along 15.7 miles of CR 455, CR Old Highway 50, CR 438, and Oakland Avenue, from Avalon Road to Howey Crossroads (the intersection of Lake County Roads 455 and 561).
